Named after the Alpine town of Monestier-de-Clermont, Moncler was founded by René Ramillon in 1952 as a mountain climbing equipment and appeal company. Famously outfitting the French national ski team during the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble.
The now French-Italian brand offers a luxury performance ski wear collection, winter wardrobe styles beyond puffer jackets and parkas. After an Italian entrepreneur, Remo Ruffini bought the company in 2003 Moncler expanded into an international luxury brand offering collections such as ready-to-wears suitables.
